Soil & Structure Stabilization

Commercial and Residential Sinkhole Projects

MEG has completed the design and construction monitoring for hundreds of commercial and residential soil stabilization projects including low mobility grouting, polyurethane grout injection, and underpinning (drilled mini-piles and helical pier underpins). Our experience is greatest in the low mobility grouting field where we have a published, and consistently refined, methodology for estimating grout quantities which has demonstrated very good reliability for estimating costs. We are also very experienced with the use of underpins (pushed, drilled, helical and grout injection piers) and chemical grouting for commercial and residential applications.

Underpins

MEG has experience with many other soil stabilization methods for commercial/industrial applications, including CSV columns, geofoam, vibroflotation, stone columns, surcharging, wick drains, micro-pull-down piles, and others. Whether for stabilizing soft soils associated with mining activities or natural deposition processes, these methods of soil improvement allow embankments, bridges and other structures to be constructed on sites often avoided because of poor soil conditions.

Stabilization Monitoring

MEG designs structural stabilization plans if any stabilization is recommended and provides experienced monitoring services. The intent of these services is to fully document the stabilization and provide a summary report to the client. Our field technicians record all contractor activities and provide assurance the contractor is in compliance with the site specific specifications we recommend for each project. Signed and Sealed Completion Reports are completed in an efficient, timely manner and are customized to the needs and requests for each client whether private or business and can properly address specifics for each individual policy requirement should there be some.
